A deliciously creamy sweet treat that will make you the star of the next dinner party when you’re asked to bring dessert! The aromatic jasmine rice coupled with the sweet and warm saigon cinnamon stimulate your senses in a way that generic white rice and cinnamon just won’t.
Ingredients
- 1/2 Cup Jasmine Rice
- 1 Cup Water
- 1 1/2 Cups Milk
- 3 Tablespoons Sugar
- 1/2 Teaspoon Ground Saigon Cinnamon
- 1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
Instruction
- In a medium saucepan, combine the water and jasmine rice. Bring to a boil over medium high heat. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover the saucepan, and let it simmer until the rice is tender and most of the water is absorbed, about 15-20 minutes.
- In a small bowl, mix together the milk, sugar, ground saigon cinnamon, and vanilla extract.
- Once the rice is cooked, add the milk mixture to the saucepan with the rice. Increase the heat to medium and cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and becomes creamy, about 20-25 minutes. Adjust the heat as needed to make sure it does not come to a boil.
-
Remove from heat and spoon into bowls. Dust with a little more saigon cinnamon for presentation and serve.
Or place in refrigerator for serving cold.
